Company founder Paul Cook is passionate about improving Britain's manufacturing base and has helped numerous companies to do just that with impressive results.

Paul is qualified in mechanical engineering and strategic management; a brief career summary follows:

  • 4 year indentured technical apprenticeship in mechanical and production engineering served in the aerospace industry
  • 7 years in the design of opto-mechanical avionics and naval systems equipment
  • 2 years manufacturing system support
  • 5 years managing new product development in capital printing machinery
  • 3 years as a senior manager in manufacture of capital printing machinery developing JIT systems in a World Class environment
  • 2 years as head of engineering for Japanese manufacturing company FujiFilm Electronic Imaging Ltd (Runners up in Management Today Best Factory Award 2001) Converting from multi to single site operations, straightening out value streams and implementing one piece flow using 'lean manufacturing' principles
  • 1 year managing new product development for the same Japanese company, reducing new product development cycle time and improving new product introduction to manufacture.
  • 2 years as senior consultant for a leading management consultancy majoring in Total Productive Manufacturing (TPM) methodology and Lean Manufacturing. Working with blue chip companies including The Royal Mint, Kraft Foods, Rank Hovis McDougall, UK Coal.

Wishing to help more UK Manufacturing companies to compete and succeed Paul joined a leading management consultancy in 1999. Now with a broad set of skills at his disposal he founded PC Consulting services offering improvement programmes, facilitation, training and mentoring.
